Hosted by the ACT/RFT SIG

1.5 CEUs will be available for attendance

Location:
Zoom (Login will be emailed prior to the presentation)

Presenters: Dr. Ehren Werntz

Summary:

This presentation is a useful introduction/review for Behavior Analysts interested in understanding and applying Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/Training (ACT) in their work. Dr. Werntz walks participants through a practical yet detailed explanation of Relational Frame Theory and Rule Governed Behavior, and how these characteristics of human learning relate to clinically significant concerns. Additionally, Dr. Werntz unpacks the different ACT processes and provides many examples of how those methods can be applied in contexts familiar to behavior analysts.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to describe the six repertoires that make up acceptance and commitment training.
  2. Participants will be able to describe how the uniquely human behavior of relational framing provides a conceptually systematic account of psychological concerns related, that are relevant to behavior analysts.
  3. Participants will be able to describe multiple ACT approaches that can be used in scenarios common to behavior analysts working in the field.
