- Dr. Michael Dougher, President of ABAI
This once-a-year event will take place at the unique venue SoHo63, located right in the heart of historic downtown Chandler. The conference will include two presentations from each of our guest speakers (4.0 CEUs), as well as our Annual Membership Meeting during the lunch break. All participants will be treated to a complimentary continental breakfast and hot buffet lunch!

SPEAKER #1: James E. Carr, PhD
James E. Carr, PhD, BCBA-D is the Chief Executive Officer of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. His professional interests include behavior analyst credentialing, behavioral assessment and treatment of developmental disabilities, verbal behavior, and practitioner training. Dr. Carr has published over 150 journal articles and book chapters on these and other topics. Dr. Carr is a Fellow of the Association for Behavior Analysis International and received the 2017 Jerry Shook Award from APBA and the 2017 Azrin Distinguished Contributions to Applied Behavior Analysis Award from APA’s Division 25. He is the editor-in-chief of the journal The Analysis of Verbal Behavior and has served on the editorial boards of 10 other behavior analysis journals, including 4 appointments as associate editor. Dr. Carr is the past president of the Colorado, Alabama, and Mid-American Associations for Behavior Analysis. He received his doctorate in 1996 from Florida State University under the mentorship of Dr. Jon Bailey and previously served on the behavior analysis faculties at University of Nevada-Reno (1996-1999), Western Michigan University (1999-2008), and Auburn University (2008-2011).
SPEAKER #2: Dr. Michael Dougher
Dr. Michael Dougher is currently EmeritusProfessor of Psychology and Vice President for Research, at the University of New Mexico, where he started his academic career in 1980. He received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 1974, and his Ph.D. in clinincal and experimental psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1980. Dr. Dougher played an important role in the development of the now rapidly growing field of clinical behavior analysis. He conducted basic laboratory research on stimulus equivalence, relational responding and the transformation of functions in an attempt to identify and articulate the complex verbal process that underlie the development and treatment of clinical problems. Dr. Dougher is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, the American Psychological Society, the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI), and the Associaton for Contextual Behavioral Science. He is a member of the Society for the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, and has served as Associate Editor of the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior and Editor of The Behavior Analyst. He served as Experimental Representative to the ABAI Council, President of Division 25 of the American Psychological Association, and is currently President of ABAI.
